SEN Studios is an interior design firm led by founder Sarah Nelson.

Sarah grew up in Wardsville, Missouri and attended college at the University of Missouri-Columbia where she graduated with a BS in Environmental Design from the Architectural Studies program. While attending college, Sarah worked two jobs to gain even more expertise in her field, becoming the first ever student technical assistant for the Planning, Design & Construction Department and a student intern interior designer for the Department of Residential Life.

For nearly 8 years after college, Sarah worked for The Architects Alliance in Jefferson City, MO, where she played a key role in bringing to life several large-scale projects, including educational institutions, financial centers, performing arts centers, fitness centers, automotive centers, and corporate office complexes.

After getting married, Sarah moved back to Columbia, MO to work as an interior designer for a development company that constructs a variety of properties, including multifamily, commercial, and hospitality.

Another career change came when Sarah was blessed with two daughters and decided to trade in her title of “interior designer” for “full time mom”. This is perhaps when Sarah learned the most when it came to time management and problem solving. “If you want something done, give it to a busy mom!”

When her oldest daughter started kindergarten, Sarah decided it was time to return to the design industry, but wanted the flexibility of working from home so she could still spend as much quality time with her family as possible. Thus, SEN Studios was created!
